Ok. I'm running an 880PRS. I've been running it with no amp and stock speakers for a while with no issue. Hooked up the amp, new speakers, and sub. Sounds good. Need to tune a bit, but sounds good none the less. Now, I made sure a had a solid ground (with DMM) on amp, and put an extra ground from the head unit chassis to a bolt that went into the truck frame. And again checked with DMM. .1 ohm reading. Looked good. Everything looked good. No pops or weird noises. But if I have the volume at zero, I can hear a bit of alternator whine. As soon as you turn it up to hear any music it goes away. I tried wrapping the RCA's with a wire and attaching them to unit chassis. May have made a slight difference, but not so much.
So, here's my question. As minimal as it is, I can put up with it as opposed to sending it in to get fixed. But, if I leave it like this, will it eventually get worse? Or can I just leave it like this indefinitely?
