Will anything get messed up if I change factory cd player in 08 Pontiac G5?

Hey,

I'm just wondering if anything in my car will get messed up if I take out my factory cd player and put in a new one? Wanna put in subs and an amp.

What I mean is...will the volume control/mute on the steering wheel still work? etc.

Also...I was looking around at walmart and saw something made by Scosche...something about a chime module....idk...it was for GM vehicles without onstar which would be mine...but it didn't have a G5 as the list of vehicles...

If I put a new player in...would I need this chime thing?

meh about the scosche..

um there are head units out there that do work with factory steering control buttons. alot of head units don't. it will be fine to change it but depending on the unit you may lose the functions.

if you want your audio controls to work you'll need to look into a pac module.
