Will adding a line driver really help?

Hi, this is my first post to this forum. So, if I have put this in the wrong category, please let me know.

I want to add an AudioControl Matrix Line Driver to my sound system. But, I'm not sure it's going to gain me much beyond clipping the output signals from my amps. Can anyone educate me on whether or not it's worth getting? Here's the details of the system:

HU: Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD (4volt pre-outs)

Amp1: JL Audio e4300 4 channel (can take up to 8V input)

Amp2: Alpine MRV series 2 channel (can take up to 4V inputs)

The Matrix unit pushes an average of 9V output. I'm pretty certain I can turn down the voltage on it to match the amps, right?? With a goal of sound quality rather than SPL, would the matrix really provide a cleaner, higher quality signal to the amps? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Thanks for the help!!

I don't think there would be anything to gain.

The JL can reach full output with a signal as low as .2v. Anything over a volt or so should be more than enough to run it at low gain and crystal clear SQ through the pre-amp stage, and the alpine needs high voltage signal even less than the JL does.

Plus, I the voltage increase the LD would give you would probably be offset by the inherent noise it would introduce.
