Will a Powerbass ASA400.1 amp push 2 10"s?

Hey guys I found a guy wanting to trade me his Powerbass ASA400.1 800 watt amp for a PS Vita game and $40. Games worth about $25 so altogether will be giving him about $65 for the amp. I cant seem to find any information on this exact model. However I did find a page on an ASA400.1X.. dont know what the X stands for.. here is the link: PowerBass ASA400.1x (asa4001x) 800W Max, Auto Sound Series

I have 2 Alpine 10" DVC 2 ohm subs I'm wanting to push. Not looking for anything over the top just something to add a well rounded sound to my system. So not looking for extreme bass or anything like that. Will this amp work for 2 10" subs? And is it a good amp? And am I getting a good deal?

Also could someone explain what the numbers on amp models mean such as 400.1, 400.4, 250.1, etc...?

Thanks

I've never owned one but heard nothing but good things about the powerbass Asa series. In this case 400.1 means 400 watts from 1 channel. 400.4 means 400 watts from 4 channels. You want a mono, 1 channel for subs. You can use a 2 or 4 channel but it's not as optimal as a mono.

Awesome thanks for the reply. So I guess I'd just bridge the 2 subs on the one channel? And I'm guessing that would give me about 200 watts to each sub? Or would it be 400 due to the amp being an 800 watt amp?

Thank you. That will definitely come in handy. Do you happen to have a wiring diagram on how to wire up the amp to the truck and the head unit?
I don't but it's simple. Run a wire, 4 gauge or bigger, from the battery positive to the amps power input. Find a ground in the back roughly 3 feet or so from the amp, use something solid like the frame, no seat belt bolts. Sand the metal sown to pure metal and run the wire from the ground to the amp. Use the same soze wire fpr your power and ground. Run your remote wire and rcas from the hu to the amp. The remote wire on the hu should be blue pr blue/white. Run you power wire on the opposite side of your rcas and remote.

Sounds simple enough. I'm gonna be running another amp for the door speakers. Can I just tie it in to the same power wire and ground as the monoblock? And which wire on the HU should I be looking for on that one? Sorry dude very new to car audio... lol

If you are running 2 amps I'd personally run a single run of 0 gauge wire to a distribution block in the back and run 4 gauge from the block to the amps. With the grounds just run 2 grounds, 1 for each amp. You can use the same spot for both. And the remote wire coming off of the hu should be either blue or blue with a white stripe.

Also, make sure to fuse the power wire within 6" of the front battery. Also of you run a single run to the back you need either a fused distribution block or fuse each run that comes out of the distro block.
