Will a Fi Q get loud with ~600rms?

Hard to say, everyone ears are different.

For you, prob be fine, but alot of others on the forum would recommend more power. Esp since you asked how loud it would be, your trying to get the most out of it.

off of what same power?
Yea, an Alpine MRD-M605. Does a little over 600 at 2 ohms. The MAW got loud, but it would occasionally bottom out, being it was only rated at 500 rms, and I'm a little "sub-level crazy" if you know what I mean. I'd rather have a sub that's rated a little higher than my amp can do, in the case that I can't blow the **** thing up.

Yea, but the only thing holding me back from getting a bigger amp is my alternator. I can't find one for my car under $500.

get a nice front battery, and i think the electrical would be fine w/ 1000w. My old car (93 nissan sentra) was fine (very slight dimming of the head lights) w/ ~ 800 watts when i did the big 3 + an optima up front.

just get a nice batttery, the most powerful amp you can afford (up to 1600w or so) and increase the power till you get to a voltage drop your not comfortable with.

I'm running a 1400w to my 15" Q on stock battery and stock alt (105amp). Only thing upgraded is the batt ground. doesn't drop below 13 volts, but i'm gonna get a better battery just to be on the safe side.

edit: the fronts are also getting 100w a piece, so 1600w off my current electrical.

The only way I'd be able to get a bigger battery it to relocate to the trunk. I guess you haven't seen a Civic up close, but the battery is tiny. While I had my sub amp hooked up, my volts would sit at 14.4 at idle, no music playing, and about 13.2 almost full tilt while in the 2000 to 5000 rpm range.

Counting both amps, my Kenwood component amp pulls 28 amps, according to ampguts, and I'm not sure on my sub amp, but it has 60 amps of fuses.

So that's around 88 amps of current, on a ~75 amp alt, and a tiny battery with a CCA of 500. I was seeing minimal voltage drops on 800 rms, but I'm not sure just how much more it can support without getting a H.O. alt.

ive got an 05 civic and my stinger batt + stinger cap running 1400rms with voltage drops to only about 12.5 never below that. usually stays between 13-14.4
