Will a aero ported enclosure tuned @55Hz hurt lows?

When you put your boxes together do you use glue and screws or just glue and clamp? Also could i use the same caulk used on tiles to seal my box?

You can do just good wood glue, but the cuts have to be perfect, and its very possible they wont be if your getting it cut at lowes. I a personally always screw as well

How hard is it to carpet a box to hide the screws? I just dont like the look of screws lol

If the box is a pretty regular shape its not too hard watch a tutorial and take your time you'll figure it out. Seams are probably the hardest part but youll figure out what works well for you

I'm looking at a couple different boxes for my Fi SSD and have pretty much narrowed it down to two. One box is around 3 cubes, has two 4" diameter aero ports 4" long but is tuned to 55Hz. The other is your standard ported enclosure, but only has 1.8 cubes and also comes with some polyfill "sheets" I guess you could say on the inside of the box. Which box is better for an spl design and would give me the best lows? Is there any way i could lower the tuning on the aero ported box? Thanks

an easy way to temporarily lower the tuning freq of abox with aero ports is to simply plug one or more ports. this can be tested my shoving a towel in the port, or by using a board with weather stripping to create a tight seal.

All you need to build a box is a skilsaw for the straight cuts, a jigsaw for the round cuts, an a drill for screws, and to poke a hole to start the jigsaw in.

Clamps aren't absolutely necessary, but they help.
