i've got my L5 in a 3^ft ported box on an 801d mtx amp....and it's NOT enough. I'm wanting to buy another, bigger amp to throw at it... possibly an 8100d or 1501d...but "should" do 1000w @ 2 ohm. But i'm also looking at the saz1500d.

am i going to overpower the sub, or should that be ok?

if its the newest model you might be alright but i think thats a bit much honestly.. if youre looking for significantly louder and youre confident your box is giving you all it can then you may have to step up to l7 with more power (if you dont want to switch boxes)

i have owned an 801d, and read alot about it online, and at 2ohms and 14.4, some have measured it near 900w. So you are already overpowering the sub.
depending on where he has gains and bass boost set he might not even be getting 400rms outta it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have a MM4000.1 on a pair of 12" CVX's im not giving them 2000rms each. I have gains set to giving them 1100 right now

well, i don't really plan on leaving it all the way up ALL the time, haha... i mean, after the initial desire to annoy everyone around me wears off, i generally listen with the sub turned low.

i can't turn it up too much anyways yet, gotta get my glass kicks made and get the other amp on them.
