my question is why would you use spacers on a baskets that already has vents?

i have had to do this before if the former is tall on a 10" sub but i dont do production runs.

someone from DC please chime in and answer my question,please.

i think its maybe cause a few of us have made spacers popular...

 
They prob have a longer coil then before needs the spacer so the woofer does not bottom out. The spacers they have on there i bet will crack the baskets. They should have used a more quality full ring spacer , what they have done looks like a cheap way out.
