Why?

Why is it that every time someone upgrades and gets a stronger system than mine, when i get back to my system, what used to hit hard as hell now seems like nothing?

I built a box for a friend with a hatchback, i knew it would be louder man mine, 600w more power and its a hatch, sat in his car for a few songs, works great. Get back to my car that used to hit hard before is now like tricks for kids, im runnin 1000w rms ported at 29hz and it bangs but now i just don't feel it any more since i heard his system.

That is stupid..

Its like you feel something stronger and all of a sudden what used to feel strong isnt even close anymore..

And it is just as strong as it has always been, my neighbor said he was uncomfortable breathing in my car, after that box build for my friend, it feels like i have a 10" in the trunk, but to my neighbor its nuts.

Just thought id share, im sure some of you have had the exact same experience.

kinda funny you bring this up. my neighbor has 2 12" sony's with 2 sony amps(one per sub) and was telling me that it would kill my single 10 when i got it finished. well a dd3510, fusion nvam25001 and a "ninja box" later the neighbor got embarrised and know wants all new equipment.

ill give it to him though, his install looked really nice.

hah, yea. I hope i get used to my bass again, it hits really hard, it sucks that you get instantly used to a stronger bass.

I have too good of a system to not feel it. Fi Q 12" 1600w rms amp.

my box is 3cuft at 29hz, its in a Ford taurus lx

i still want it to hit the lows though, ive never tuned anything higher than 32hz.

Like i said, this thing already hits really HARD, its just that my friends hits harder and now mine doesn't feel as strong, even though it is.

your trying to compare a hatchback to a trunk . that's like comparing apples to oranges . cars with trunks are usually a little less loud then say a hatchback or an suv . if you want it to seam louder take out the back seat and turn your subs facing in side the cabin and cut out all the bracing and then reinforce it

your sub will still hit the lows tuned at 38hz. it will play up to 1 octave below tuning(20hz) in the car especialy in a trunk. i would give it a try and see what happens.

my 3510 is in 1.5cuft tuned to 37-38 and it SLAMS the lows

there is no way im taking out the back seat, lol. I know his system is louder because of hatch, in fact according to winISD mine beats his by +0.79db from 29hz to 44.57hz, that is if it where in the same car, IE mine.

Im just pointing out how you can feel stronger bass and then your bass doesn't sound as good.

i love how a guy with 2 jackhammers thought he was the ish...then i told him to just sit in my car...."aww man what you got like 2 12's or a 15" only 1 DD 3510 on 1k...."aww i wanna do 2 of those for a show car when i build it" "i want you to install them..."

gotta love guys who have never heard of real subs.

Dont turn this thread into a "he had shit and heard good subs thread" I have a nice system and a nice setup, i just heard the same system as me except open cab.
