nobody said anything about success and their not hating so much on the product. if you read its more about hating on how rediculously over priced they are.

Yes the pricing is high, but think about it logically. With companies like FI, AQ, Incriminator Audio, etc. you're purchasing directly from the manufacturer. With JL it has to go through distributors and dealers, which each have to get their cut.
Buying used, the price different isn't that great. Used W7's go for around the same price as used XXX's and brahmas.

I'm not a huge fan of JL, but I think some take the bandwagon bashing too far off over logical thinking.

No one in here will say that JL sux, or make crappy products, because they don't. But like its stated before. I can buy almost any 12" sub I want for half the price and make it twice as loud, AND have better SQ than any woofer that JL will put out.

The w6 is hands down one of the best sq subs available. The only comparisons are around the same price as a w6 and none of them have been listed.

Anything you walk into a retail store and buy is going to be expensive. Go walk into a DD dealer and tell me that shit is not overpriced in your mind.

This ^^^^ When you buy JL, your basically paying for the name.
Take a Lambo for instance, price = obsurd. Sure you can buy a Civic for 1/9 the price and make it twice as fast, but in the end its a Civic...

More people are gonna recognize the Lambo, why?? Price makes them for the rich, famous, etc.

you can buy from JL directly, full retail. An authorized JL dealer will charge full retail or close to it. Buy on the internet and you get NO warranty and basically have to buy a new sub if it blows, same as used, recone is almost price of new, if they will even help you out at all.

I didn't know you could order from them directly now. But I can tell you they probably have products at full retail to protect their dealers. Why would they undercut who keeps them in business?

When you buy any used product rarely will it come with a warranty. In the case of JL's recones, yeah they are expensive. But again, I think it partially has something to do with encouraging authorized purchases. If it was a defect from the manufacturer it'd be repaired under warranty, if it was from abuse it wouldn't be repaired for free even if it was under warranty.

JL is all for protecting their dealers.
