why isnt it louder?

ok so today my friend and i put all new Knuconcept wires 4g(ground, power) but didnt do the rca's and remote cus he had them already in from his old setup. before this he had his 15" custom RE running off of my 400.1 pheonix gold amp running off of 8g wires.

he got a BNIB hifonics titan 7506, and that replaced my PG 400.1. power works, ground is fine, rca's and remote all are fine.

ok so enough with the background.

sub is wired at 1 ohm as it was on the PG amp. the amp is bridged @ 1omh and it is NOT loud at all. it barely hits. we played with all the settings, turning up gain, turning down, no more past 1/2 way. changed HPF and LPF settings. i am stumped.

he got the amp off of a user on here, the guy says the amp is BNIB, its the new line of hifonics, everything looks sweet as ****.

checked:

deck-does not have a subwoofer boost/cut just bass for all speakers

wiring-checked so many times its not funny

fuses-fine

have you maxed out the gain?

not all amps have the same input voltage range

no did not max out the gain. and i dont really want to have it left there.

Turn up the gain on the hifonics i find that on the hifonics amps you gotta turn the gain a little higher each amp is diff.

Co-sign, my Hifnonics likes the gain higher than my Tsunami did.

its just that hifonics msot of their amps go up to 9v input i believe, alot of other amps ive had only got to 5v or 6v, just the range they use, and you have to turn the knob up to match with the pre-out voltages

thanks for all the help guys. back when i had my hifonics i barely had the gain up and it rocked my type-r. oh well. i tiold him to unplug the bass knob.

he did turn up the gain and he says its way louder. so maybe the bass knob will help more.
