Why isn't 2 cubes enough?

I don't know about the assassins but those SA-8's would perform very well ported.
Or any 3 8's. I just used assassin as an example. Thanks for ur help though. I have no problem usin ur suggestion and doing two sa8's ported but I'm just making sure before I pull the trigger

Just remember that each driver is different. One driver may not perform well in a sealed enclosure, such as the SA8, one may require more airspace than another, power handling, etc...

Would sacrificing my 40 seat for a 12 or 15 be worth it or will the two sa8's b impressive enough?
Depends on you really if you sacrifice your 40 seat, then you might aswell go with two 12's ported by building the box from the floor to the top of your back seat, as long as the box is built correctly.

If I do the 2 sa8's... Fire down or forward and why? Port direction? One big circle right? How big in diameter is big or right? My shop will probably know the answer to that last question.

I'd want it to stay under the window height. Like as an arm rest when ur sitting in the middle so idk if it'd be enough to make a difference. I'll take measurements tomorrow. I'll also find out why Pwk said to not use sa8's. Somethin about them spiking or something like that

He is saying SA8's are peaky? That is a very strange general statement to say.

"I'm not sure if you've looked at the SA-8 T/S parameters, or modeled

anything using them. They tend to produce a rather nasty spike in

efficiency along a single point, and next to nothing on either side of it.

It actually takes quite a bit of space to correct this error

acoustically.

That seems like something that your shop should have mentioned, unless

they're just looking to unload the most expensive set of woofers on you.

As for the three choices I mentioned, the 8" Assassin would probably be

the most compliant driver to use in your circumstance."(pete)

Maybe the guy knows more about the sa8 than I do... idk what to think... all i've heard is great things about this sub. maybe I have enough space to "correct the spiking error"

I have about 18" of depth from front to back. 18" wide from left to right. and about 28" high. Thats what size box I'd be willing to put there. What's the best I could put in that box? ...so I can compare whether or not to do that or 2 sa8's under the seats.
