I dont get it.. I just reinstalled my whole system(new double din cd/dvd, visonik dual 12", and sony amp) to my new car and when I turn down my headunit vol down to "1" just before completely to "0" I still hear my bass pounding in the trunk. I have to turn my gain all the way down on my amp to "0" in order for the sub and the headunit vol to go down together but if I do that then I guess there's really no point of even having subs in my trunk.

I currently have my setup as basic as possible, got only one rca sub out from my headunit to the amp, speaker wires from the amp to the dual subs.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Can the ground go bad? the reason why I ask is because when I used to have a jensen headunit hooked up I didnt have this problem, but I did ride around without any stereo for about a month before just reinstalling with a new headunit tho... I will see if I can reground in the trunk.

I had the sony amp and the visonik dual 12's for about 6 years in 3 different cars, the only thing I had to replace was the rca cable that went bad after 2 years.. now its in a fourth car and with a problem, everybody is saying its a ground issue so Im going to reground tomorrow and see if it fix the problem. Its the best free system I ever got in my life cuz its still running strong.. trust me, I am surprised!!

free is free. dont listen to spoiled little boys. anyways, let us know how it turned out.

did you run the rca wires along side the power wire? easy test, unplug the rca wire, if it goes away then its in the rca or deck, if it stays then its in the amp or speaker wiring. You grounded to a foolproof place, what place? Pleas dont tell me seatbelt bolts

My rca wires are running next to my power wire in the door sill and I regrounded to a factory grounding point in my trunk. If I unplug the RCA wire then the subs go quiet so you are saying that it might be my rca wires or my headunit right? Well.. this never happened before until I just put in a new headunit.. I really wish is not the headunit:verymad: I guess I will have to have my finger crossed and hope is the rca wires that went bad.

this is correct. with you saying its a new unit, id say its the unit, but try new rcas first of course.

just to note to, as stated, running the rcas down the same side of the car as the power wire can cause problems like this as well.

good luck.

Do you have a remote bass knob hooked up to it? Make sure thats turned down all the way maybe. I know its supposed to be obvious, but you never know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
