Why is a Kicker ZX 1200.1 louder than an Orion 2500d???

tune the intelli q right and its a difference of night and day. anyways in my days of owning four 1200d's and four 2500d's I know they are badazz amps and I love mine.

The new orion 2500's are only 1200w rms amps, IIRC. So if it's a new one, that's why. if it's a year or two old, the older 2500D would walk that Kickers ***.

I think it's the fact that he didn't have the other terminals hooked up and there wasn't enough current for it. He also just told me that the amp would cut out at high volumes, fvcken dumbass.

oddly enough i ran mine with only one power input and didnt lose much. not enough to say a 1200w amp was stronger. didnt blow anything, didnt notice much.

From personal experence this is true. If he doesnt have the high pass filter switched on which acts as a SS filter on this amp and turns inteliQ on, he wont be getting the full potential of his amp. i learned the hard way until i actually read the owners manual //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

the newer orion 2500d's are 1200rms at 1 ohm. the kicker is 1200 rms at 2 ohms. he said both were running at 1 ohm so the kicker will do more than 1200 rms at 1 ohm. that is why the kicker is stronger. only thing is i would not recomend running the kicker at 1 ohm. they will run flawless at 2 ohms but running it daily at that. no.

He's going to fry that amp if he doesn't add the other power and ground runs. To me it was a toss up between the zx2500.1 and the orion 2500d as far as comparisons between the 2 lines go.
