why ft stage only?

may seem like a silly question, but why is it that everyone just want the front stage and not both ft and rear? On my 06 Altima,it has 6.5 in the ft doors and 6x9 in the rear deck....would it not sound very good if those 2 pair were replaced with quality speakers and run off of a quality 200x4 (or so) amp? What is it that people only replace the fronts?

My buddy has an 07 Civic Si. He's got a JL 10 in the back, and a Focal 3-way setup in the front, on an amp. I have no idea how much power to either. He runs the rear w/o an amp, and it's just enough to thicken up the sound, without mucking things up.

If done with good attention you won't need it. It engulfs you. Since I went 3 way active I find myself just jamming in the driveway for something to do. Van Halen wooo itchy ears and all. I blink every time the drum hits...lol

I use to be a big believer of front and rear speakers in a car. Untill, I had to remove my rear speakers for my last install and really notice the difference in the sound. With a strong front stage, and subs, you get a really nice sound that fills the cabin of your car. Even when I had passengers in the rear, they still heard my front stage loud and clear.

But, the year or so, I have not had subs and add rear speakers in my car makes me realize that sometimes I miss them. Which is why I will prob included them on my next install.

My suggestion to anybody debating it is to try it with your rears and without and make your own decision. In the end, its your car, and your ears. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Word its definitely listening pleasure. I dont knock it!

i want to get a really nice fairly loud playing sq system, but would rather not take up any room in the trunk for a sub...just a thought on the rear 6x9 thing

A well treated door for midbasse produces a very nice effect.
Yes it does, I dont think people realize how much of a difference midbass makes in music enjoyment, esp in a car.

WrenchGuy, im a lil envious, I would really like to try a 3 way setup at some point in the near future just to hear the differences compared to a normal 2 way setup.

It certainly is a personal prefrence. One needs to realize the importance of a strong front stage. Rear fill is exactly that just fill. I use rear fill. Properly tweeked, it does not take away from a strong front stage. The concert analagy deos hold some truth, but its not the complete picture.
