I see a lot of people that don't compete simply because they can't win. It's not all about winning for me. Even if I didn't place first I would still compete just because I like to better myself and beat my own scores. That's how I learn. Keep trying different stuff and see how it works out. Also it's cool just to hang out and BS with everyone at the events.

Our local events have a nice class layout that seperates you by vehicle type and then power. That way trunks don't have to go up against CRXs and guys with 10kwatt spl setups aren't up against the daily guys with less than 1500watts.

thats why i like pro and stock classes.

I need to drive to snoop's house to get my truck loud.
Drive-by loud or whatever musical loud thing they have. I dislike burps.

As far as sony xplodes go, a buddy of mine had four of the 12" xplodes in the back of his Geo Storm on a Autotek 4kw and it did 151's ..... they didnt last much more after a few events but for the price I guess it worked out

I see.

MECA have any classes like that?

I have thought about trying to find a 15" BL or the like to see what I can do in a music based class...dunno though. I don't have the monies really

i don't try to be better than anyone. i try to have a nice setup because thats what i want.

db #s don't matter to me. as long as my seat is shaking and shits beatin i'm all good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I'm just not the least bit interested in high-tuned burps and going for pure SPL. My setup is for me to enjoy with all types of music in a daily driver. I'd be more interested in SQ, except that I do actually enjoy being able to get ridiculously loud at times, so my setup isn't really ideal for pure SQ, either. I'm stuck in between.

If I did compete, it would be n SQ and I'd want to go hard. I don't have the ability to travel all over the country doing that though.

I've been building my truck for 4 years now and will eventually put it in shows and stuff, but I am reluctant to put it out there until it's done. Or at least some version of done. For now, It's still a work in progress and it has been a long time since I wasn't in the middle of some kind of project with it and could sit back and enjoy it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I voted other. The way I need to set up my system to drive daily doesnt turn out to be very competitive in the lanes. Too many batteries and too much cone area puts me in a class that is not for n00bs.

i hear you, but a lot of people on here only have daily setups, like mine, and still compete. Its just how well you can design the whole layout of the system including the box, deadener, tuning, etc etc. I know sooo many other people running 2 15"s here locally that are daily drivers just like mine, but im probably 8db louder than them cause i took my time when i decide to do this, it just takes some effort.

so your saying your never going to compete at all? even a local show in your area? I mean i dont compete regularly, only 2 times so far, but I will do it if its close enough for me to drive to.

I say get out there and compete, just to show what you can do as a DIY'er.

I choosed the other. Time, Money, Vehicle. I moved away from everyone I know that was halfway serious about audios. And yeah, I kinda grew outta it with a wife who isn't into it, a kid too young, and just by picking up different hobbies.
