Why don't competitors use pro audio subs?

Yea that place gets annoyingly loud sometimes.

I'm just curious if those who say PA drivers will not work in car audio have ever tested this? Not the two drivers listed specifically, but any of them? My guess is no, so STFU already. If you have tested them, I'd like to see some results. Though, I'm thinking that wont happen.
ya we went to the room the chairs were shaking.. like the roof was cool but their was a live band with the highs cranked in a small space it was bad.. but overall cool place

Would you use a car audio mid in an SPL setup? No. Same basic thing, just these have bigger cones.

I have 4 Eminence Delta 10s in my van right now... Definately not working for SPL.

surprised that no one has brought up this

I'm not talking about PA mids, which is why I said NOT the two listed in the OP, I'm talking PA subwoofers, believe it or not they do exist.

My question is, why wouldn't it work?

i have always wondered the same thing, i think most people dont use the pro audio drivers because they dont respond as well below about 30hz. i use cerwin vega int 252 speakers in my dj set up and at about 60hz they can knock over beer bottles on our dj table. they have a 15'' mid driver and a 15" sub + the horn in each cabinet. rarely ever do we get to run them at potential because they are too loud for most small to medium size venues. very clean sound.

edit. link to the speakers.

Send me some and I can make them dominant again. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
I think you're doing just fine with what you've got //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but I know where almost a dozen BRAND NEW 18s can be found //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

they had their day in the lanes and handled their business very well.

I can attest to that personally

Yeah, if you had 8+ cubes per 15 they rocked! Hahaha
hahaha... 8cubes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

how about you more than double that for 18s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Those are far from what I posted earlier, and are no where near considered a woofer of any type IMO, with a fs of 65hz and less than 2mm of xmax you're not going to get much bass at all.

After looking around more, I found something that fits exactly what I'm talking about: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=294-676

4" VC with 1kw power handling

low qts

fs of 34hz

97db efficiency

decent xmax of 10mm
