I do it for a few reasons. More efficient heating and cooling. MI weather blows chunks and its indecisive. Second to keep my interior from fading and the dash board from cracking or weathering. Third to keep the sun out of my kids eyes. Fourth for looks.
where are you at in MI? my ex lives in traverse city she just moved up there again.. nice area.

MN is stupid Legal limit is 50% FML thats not even worth it you can still see in, not much sun help. Yes cops will pull you over with 40% here seen it plenty of times, prob won't even bother tinting my ride even though I'd fvcking love to..
bro try living in PA... 70% is legal nothing below unless you want pulled over everyday

Why don't you guys go to the eye doctor and say that light is giving you a headache and you need to have your vehicle tinted to drive safely. Most eye doctors will write a "script" for tint that you keep with you so if you get pulled over, you can laugh in the cop's face and show him that for you, it's perfectly legal.

I wouldnt do that if I were you. In MI if you have a script for tint because of sensitive eyes it goes on your license as some type of endorsement. If you get pulled over and your not driving a car with tint you will be ticketed.

i dont see why its such a big deal to cops if your windows are a little too dark..

in my opinion, I'd rather take the risk of getting a ticket for tint, than having some hood rat steal my setup.

But thats just me of course.

35% legal here in WI

35% is legal here...

Idk somehow I get around the law with my vehicle. Like I passed emissions missing a cat.

I live in MN 35% sides 20 back, I've been pulled over once the day after I got it tinted.

State troopers are pricks

It's not your problem if you're driving a car that's not yours and it doesn't have tint. Make sure you have sunglasses on you just in case I guess. Indiana doesn't require you to get any endorsements or restrictions on your license for darker tint, you just have to have paperwork proving you can have darker than legal tint. Also, depending on your vehicle, in Indiana, tint laws may not apply. If you vehicle's factory tint is darker than the legal limit, your vehicle falls into the MPV class in Indiana. Any vehicle in the MPV class is not required to follow tint laws.

I have 5 in the back and 20 on the front along with a 5% brow. initially I did it to hide my system however now its just to keep the car cooler. my steering wheel use to burn when I got in mid summer. now its just warm. I do want to redo my tint though with 20 all around.5 is too dark

Fawkk the police! I dunno if its just my area in town but Michigan cops are straight azz holes about tint.
My last car I had 35% up front. My buddy had 15% up front, another buddy had 2.5% up front. Everyone I know has only had warnings.

Here you have to have your paper work to. Legal here is anything on the back windows, a 6" strip on the front windows any shade and a 6" strip on the windshield any shade. I have double layered limo on my rears, hatch and windshield and 35% up front. Never been warned yet.

The Caprice is 18% on sides and back with a 12" 5% sunstrip on the windshield. If I get the windshield tinted on it, I'm going to do 35% on the windshield and keep the sunstrip too. The Jeep is 18% on the sides and 18% over the factory 20% that was on the back windows. That puts it a little under 5% on the backs. There is also a 9" 5% sunstrip on the Jeep. No tickets, no warnings...knock on wood...
