Why do ppl hate on JL?

i love JL Amplifiers, i have never heard they're W7's before, the local store by me sells them, but do not have W7's on display to listen to, if im willing to pay a price that i dont know how good it is, bye bye...

funny story was they were installing 2 of them in the back, with 2 1000/1's i never heard it inside, and my car was parked at the very end of the parking lot, set mine and many others alarms off...

its not ahrd to set off a vibration detector for an alarm really, bass shakes everything, even your balls so expect to set off alarms if you have a modest system on up

Buy an Adire audio Barhma Extreme . there is one for sale on this forum . That woofer is the true meaning of super sub woofer

I was a hard core JL enthusiest( SPELLING)Untill I Bought my barhma. Now there is no going back. This is the best sounding,loudist mother I have ever heard.

And It was purchased at a fraction of the cost of the JL W7.

dont go by the brand, go by the product.

That being said, the w7 kicks *** and is one of the best woofers PERIOD. You pay for it, but when you have $ a few hundred more doesnt mean much.

The JL amps are also pretty good, very useful.

I also like the XR comps - pretty dam clean.

THat being said, the rest of the JL line is mostly garbage and a complete waste of $.

take it for what its worth when i say this. the jl is not any better or worse than the people who can/cant afford them. for most of the reasons people dont like jl because of price would be like saying you cant afford it/wont spend that much on it. (which is your choice nothing more or less)

Longevity. A lot of people are scared of the newer brands only because of just that. JL, Rockford, Kicker have been around for a long time.

yeah thats kinda liked JBL and Infinity..theyve been around the block along time...but everyone doesnt seem to run JBL or Infinity stuff alot..its all RE, SS, and AA..

i love Harman International's products..thats just my opinion..

there are at least 100 JL installs for every RE, SS, OR AA install out there.

Reputations are not just handed out. They are earned through good design and performance over a period of time. JL has earned their reputation. Now, whether or not somebody thinks their products are overpriced is purely a personal decision.

a Type R sounding as good as a w6v2? I bet you are in rare company with that opinion. Everybody is entitled to their opinion(and some of us couldn't care less about spl). I never said the W6v2 was the best (ofcourse there are some...Eric Holdaway, for example, who think it is the best sounding sub he has ever reviewed).

Ofcourse, you didn't even understand the point of my post. The person I quoted had not mentioned the W6V2s, and they are widely considered to be excellent(that would be the opposite of "mostly garbage") and many prefer them to the W7s. I think the w6v2s may be the most under appreciated JL subs around. Most people just automatically think W7 when talking about higher end JL subs. The W6v2s are excellent.

Um, no. If your Type-R sounds just as good as the W6v2 you heard, then the w6v2 was not setup properly.

The W6v2 is honestly one of the best sounding subs on the market.

The w6v2 is the flagship sq sub that jl makes, and is safely said one of the worlds best sq woofers for sure.
