Why do cashiers give you the bills, change, and receipt at the same time?

Every time I buy something, the cashier puts my stuff in a bag, and then hands me a disorganized ball of paper and coins. And it's not just in one store, it's freaking everywhere. What do they expect me to do with that? Wallet in one hand, ball of crap in the other. They count the bills first then coins second, so how hard could it possibly be to hand the bills to me before picking up the coins, and then count the coins while I put the bills away?

When i was a cashier i would do that to get you out of the way and could deal with the next customer.

I have never had that happen to me. Not one time.

In fact, I have never heard of them doing that to anyone until I read this thread.

Wonder why they target just you. Have you taken some public stand against cashiers (prior to this thread)?

pay with debit and you wont have that problem...

I only pay for gas with my card, nearly everything else is cash.
