why can't I get a credit card?

Get your FICO score and see what it says is the weak link.

Try a local credit union, they will be less likely to screw you as well.

If not that, then just get a secured one and work from there.

your 22 years old...you cant have much credit....also if your debt to income ratio is too high they wont give you one either...thinking its around 30 percent or more that would put you in the reject list unless you had like a really high credit score..

whats the reason for a credit card?

save your money up and just go buy it

I had 5 cards and recently HSBC sent me a letter in the mail saying my account is canceled because of no balance for the past year. Didnt really phase me but it was kinda humorous

If you have a car and a home your building credit.

Part of your credit score is your ratio of available credit to running balance. So when they canceled your card, your score dropped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You need a credit card to have a good credit score, just part of how FICO works. There is no reason not to have one if you can get a no annual fee card and pay it off every month before the grace period is up.

Also credit scores impact your insurance rates, so credit scores aren't totally useless.

like everyone's been saying, you need to look at your credit score.

you make 50K so your income flow isn't the problem

you either have mad student loans that hurts your debt-to-income ratio or you just don't have enough positive credit history to get approved.

look into a credit union for a card to start building up credit, although credit cards are the worst. just pay for everything in cash and when you get a house come with a decent down payment and you should be straight.

Not really. If I made more money or saved better, I could buy a regular house with cash. It can be done. I have no doubt I will do it at least once before I die.
This is kind of a ridiculous argument...

Yes you may be able to save up enough money before you die to buy a nice house with cash, however most people would rather use credit so they can have they're house while they're still young and just make payments on it...
