Why can't black people behave during a movie?

I think I've told you this before, but someone once asked MLK if he found the N word offensive.
He simply stated, "Words only have power if you allow them to" and walked away. Ppl who use that language in everyday life only do it to get a rise out of someone and to elicit a response.

No, because this is the stupidest and actually one of the only offensive racial arguments there is. The N word has no use in our language today, and is too strong a word to use to describe anyone. You talk about black people buying rims and such, what about hispanics ricing out their civics and white people jacking up old *** jeeps for off roading? Same thing, but you don't call them ******s too, now do you? I'd advise not to bring that argument to a black person in real life.
Really? I was planning on bringing this arguement up with people at my work tomorrow. I guess I won't now. I've discussed this with other white people and they agree. I think people take words too seriously and need to calm down. Black people can call white people crackers or anything they want because they play the race card. So what if you were slaves 200 years ago. Are you free now? Just be happy. We fought for the freedom of this country so that you can be free now.

And after the movie, you would have thought it was Best Buy car audio competition out front.
I pulled a negro move by rolling all four of my windows down, and blasting Soul Survivor at full volume while driving through the massive monkey crowd. I then paused it, and didn't hear any of the other systems. LOL.

Now watch my shit get jacked.
lol is that towards me lmao??? i went and competed there lol that is where that truck was at lol

They get away with calling white ppl crackers because personally I could care less if somebody called me cracker, it doesnt make me less of a person. You call a black person the n word and they are liable to shoot you. If you remove the response you remove the reason the word is used in the first place.

But yet, when you use a word with probably the most offensive connotation in our language, your intentions, not the word, but your intentions are what get the rise out of people. Words are words, but when you use a certain word, it's the meaning behind it. Stating that some black people only ( do not lie, you know full well he was only talking about blacks) fit that description and that I need to work in my life to not be looked at by society as a ****** is simply offensive.

And this thread is killing me, got to admit I was not cool with the title at first.

But, since I dont take things too seriously, I had to be able to laugh and see the point.

i read 3/8 pages...not gonna read the rest..just gonna say,,,

Its not racism, it's just the way it is... It's not like this is a new topic, black people are just known to talk through movies, or at least when they do, A MAJORITY (not allllll of them) talk at high volumes... Comedians comment on this all the time

I personally do not associate the word that way, so I can't comment on it any further, but it is nice for you to take your time to articulate your point that well. I have a better understanding of another viewpoint, and for the record the racist comments made in this thread by me were in jest and when it came to the serious matter of the controversial N word I backed off because as I said some people take it very seriously.

I wouldn't have such a problem with it if young african american males didn't use it everyday to refer to each other. But I guess thats another battle.

Then honestly, you couldn't imagine what it's like being black in this country. It's the situations that this thread are based upon that define why black people are not free. When someone describes a black guy you think of the rapper or the insolent assholes like deerhunt is describing, not people like Obama, Chris Gardner or any other successful minority who has to work harder to rid himself or herself of their stereotypical image. I don't use the race card ever because I don't have to, but I cannot stand it when people try to tell others "you're free now, stop complaining" or "slavery is over, everyone's equal" because unfortunately, it is about as far from the truth as it can get.

Yea, as a young white male growing up in rural WV I have seen racism alot, but never personally been discriminated against, so I try not to comment on things too personal, but the occasional joke to lighten the mood is always in order.

I rarely take racism offensively unless it's in person and in a truly malevolent sense, because I find it more interesting than anything that people hate one another for no apparent reason. Everyone indulges in stereotypes and biases, but when you do it repeatedly over and over and over again, there's a fine line that you cross which makes people's perception of you change.
This was not in regards to you, just in a general sense. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have to say I disagree here go back 50 years and things are much worse and even further from that truth.
