Why aren't more people hitting 160?

The power claimed says you didn't do it in that install. It would be the most efficient stock build ever. And the loudest explorer. Most likely it was a audio control mic at a Whitlee competition in Arkansas

I nominate this for thread of the day.

Sorry, OP, you're not going to win this one. The argument, I mean. I think TOTD is pretty much guaranteed at this point.

Sorry sir I haven't updated my Sig on this site due to the low amount of giving a rats, and my "setup" did just fine for an entry level, as I said take some time and read and research before opening ones mouth, not my fault your "box" looks good but is overkill for your sub as everyone else pointed out, just like most of the guys here you don't listen to the people who know, not saying i do butyou were wrong then and still are the OP came in being an *** and I get blasted for being one back? And giving on a blunt opinion saying he approached things wrong is perfectly okay as all I said was start over or get blasted
Your turn now that the butthurt is strong within you

Dude you're talking to the wrong guy... I'm the one with the big box for a single 12, boohoo no need to get all pissed off about it. OP is not being an a$$ or anything, he was simply mistaken. I never ripped on your setup, and you shouldn't rip on mine seeing as you've never heard it. You need to calm down and take a break from the internet to get your social skills back in line. Just because someone is being an a$$ to you doesn't mean you should be one back.

i will almost guanrantee that the OP was on a audiocontrol mic. with my current daily driver, i did a 141.3 db meca legal on a termlab meter. its also has done a 158.1 db in the corner of the windshield on an ac meter.

Since you're new to the forum I'll lay out this forums general attitude toward capacitors. Most members (as in 90-99.9999% of them, I estimate) believe that capacitors store nowhere near the amount of electricity that an AGM will, and to get anywhere within the same amount of electricity stored would cost waaaaay more if you went with capacitors than batteries. Most of the time capacitors are waaaaaay overrated too. It would take somewhere in the 500-1000 farad range to even think about getting close to the amount of electricity stored in a good AGM. They really are a waste of money and time to install. But hey, if you want a cap in your system you put a cap in your system. No skin off my balls. And welcome to the forum!

It's actually way more than that.

If you calculate the number of Joules in a battery vs. a cap... it's retarded lopsided. Even if we don't take into account the very high ESR (and resulting voltage drop) of the capacitor.

A big G31 batt can be upwards of 40,000 Joules.

A 100F cap is maybe 1,000J. Maybe. (taking into account the operating voltage). It's estimated that the big supercapacitor banks that some of us use are ~ 4,000-6,000 Joules each.

A Joule is a watt/second. Meaning one Joule can support one watt for one second.

I honestly can't tell if the OP is trolling or not though. I don't know why I feel like all of these keystrokes are wasted.

And only good a regular cap is is as an AC current shunt to rid the system of noise

Now maxwell supercaps are a different story as they are much higher farad and current rates as well as doing what a regular cap is supposed to do

I remember when I used two prefab boxes with way overrated woofers.

One of these guys at the local shop told me it could easily hit a 160 plus.

Yea that wasnt a termlab score the old mics were easy the new ones are really hard I doubt your t2s were anything over a 154 and thats being generous. Unless u got lucky with building the box just right which does happen.
I had 1 dd2510 burping a 148 on 2k but I got luck with my box no other box I built could get louder
whats that box look like :p
