Why are my coils reading differently?

OK When in the inputs it reads 1.8-1.9 BUT right above the inputs it reads 1.0-1.1

Am I overly freaking out or is this weird?

well you know the problem is in the terminal so ur sub is fine. make sure the post isnt touching the basket if so isolate. if it's the termianl it's self do what rusty said or contact the manufacture and get another one...

A couple of quick pointers:

- When measuring DCR lay the driver face down on a table to stop the cone from moving. You said the meter was bouncing - this is why.

- Meters have a higher error rate when measuring low values verses higher ones. Get a 100 Ohm precision resistor - ~$1 at Radio Shack - and place it in series with the load. Measure the resistor with the meter beforehand and simply subtract that from what you get with it connected to the coil.

My guess is there's nothing wrong.

heres what ive seen cause that, if at the terminal it read 2 and the leads it reads 1 there is a issue in the terminal, those terminals are not 1 piece, the spring loaded section has a post that comes up throught the basket , then a tab is soldered onto it. that tab is what the lead wire is soldered to, sometimes where the post and tab are soldered the connection goes bad and you get the exact same problem your describing, grab a solder gun and re-solder the post and tab, wait for it to cool all the way off to room temp and read it again, any heat in the termianls will cause a crazy reading on your dmm
I just sent almost an exact copy of this message to him via e-mail. Rusty is on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If it's not the solder I'll send you a terminal -- but you really have to get that solder hot to re-bond it as the center piece that goes up into the tab is fairly thick metal. I've fixed it once before and it took quite a bit of heat.

LOL Exactly what I was thinking when I read Rusty's post! Great minds think alike! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I tried the re soldering the solder seems to be veryy veryy solid. I think it might be a terminal. I got some extras at my house so when I get back ill give it a try!

Thanks for all the input.
