Why am i getting -195.2?

i am trying to test for a good ground for my batt. upgrading the big three. i grinded down to bare metal but i'm still getting this reading from my multimeter. when i touch both red and black leads together its 0.4 and eventually goes down to 0.0. i tried different spots of course but they are still negative.wtf?...any ideas.

POS meter? Out of calibration? Bad battery? Set to the wrong range? Bad leads? Using the meter wrong? Trying to test resistance with voltage in the same path?

i tested my amp ground and it worked fine,....got 0.2

so what exactly are you looking to find, resistance? voltage drop? etc...

i want to find a good ground point for my battery using ohms on my DMM,,,,but all the spots that i've tried gives a negative reading

disconnect the battery first. measure from the battery negative terminal (not the battery post) to your new location.

Realize that if you get a measurable difference (with any common multimeter) between shorting the leads and your proposed ground location it's a crappy ground point. 0.02 ohms resistance with a 100A draw is a drop of 2V.
