I would dissagree..They are very close having heard bothGonna have to disagree with you on everything except the whole RE thing (which I'm also very skeptical about)
You might feel that the TDX is just as good, but the W7 does have advantages over it and is capable of playing cleaner and louder technically. Same goes for pretty much all other SQL woofers out there except for the new XXX.
Yea, I'll agree with you that you can find better values than the W7 (the TDX being one of them.)I would dissagree..They are very close having heard bothand liking both I didnt hear an advantage to the W7
They both sound great,but my TDX's cost me 600 or so for 3 12s BNIB on an Ebay deal
& no way I cant get a W7 in that price range becuase of all the nuthuggers and high retail pricing....
And I dont understand your statments of Louder and cleaner TECHNICALLY
either it is or it isnt
bc u touch urself at niteIt seems like they are the benchmark for high end subs. A point of comparison. So why do they get crap all the time? Is it just because of the price?
i dont like them because;
A. the hype. i dont appriciate people who do not know what they are talking about pretending to know what they are talking about because they paid somone a lot of money.
B. the cost. JL charges way too much for the speaker. but then again, equipment is worth what you pay isnt it?
C. three ohm SVC or DVC. its not a huge deal, but im not a fan. id rather just see it plain dual 4ohm or single 4 ohm. just like all the other speakers around, but its kind of nice if you only run one on a 1ohm stable amp. get a trickle more power to them.
D. the mounting rings. i hate to be a weirdo - it is a cool idea, but way to impractical on a sub of this weight\size. im sure they could have just made some pretty screwholes instead of that easily breakable mounting ring.
otherwise, they are graet speakers with the right installation.
