Why 2 Dead Channels on my PDX 4.150

Here is my system:

Speakers:

8 JL Audio 7.7 Components (New) 100-150rms

4 MB Quartz Components (couple yrs old) 60-70rms

Amps:

2 Alpine PDX 4.150 (New)

I have 6 of the 7.7 going to 1 amp and the other speakers going to the

other amp.

I just lost 2 channels in the amp running the 6 7.7s and my system has goes distorted after while when turned up. All fuses good. Voltage is 12V.

Any ideas on the reason for the 2 dead channels?

I have tested all speakers and they do work.

I had this install done at local audio store by a pretty knowledgeable and reputable tech. According to him and the other techs, the PDX 4.150 should be able to handle these speakers.

I will be meeting with him tomorrow to have him evaluate what happened

so you had multiple speakers hooked up to each channel?
you probably wired the channel to see a load it couldnt handle, or you tried getting too much power out of the channels
This is what I was wondering, should I add another amp and run 1 set of speakers/channel?

I have run this system 3-5hrs at full volume or mostly (30/33). Probably around 25hrs total. No problems. Running 2 blue Top Optimas.

When this happened the system had been running for about 2-3hrs.

Would running less than 12V cause this to happen?

OK, this is embarrassing. My wonderful wife was fooling around with the controls and had the Fade and Balance all the way to one side, there for 2 of the inputs from the head unit had very little input power.

When I confronted her about it, she blamed it on the dog.

Readjusted Fade to 0 and Balance to 0 and we are back jammin.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif:veryhapp:

This reminds me of the time I tried isolating a rattle in a door panel, only to realize that I had some Tic Tacs in the map pocket.
