Who's smarter, the scientist or the philospher?

I believe that "smartness" cannot be measured between the 2 job titles but must be measured at the indivdual level.
The greatest minds combine both skills sets (visionary / analytical) into one and become a specialized engineer. The ability to have the vision and execute upon it is the true measure of being "smart".
I was going to say something to this extent.

Intelligence alone will get you nowhere. Think of the child prodigy who does terribly in school because of lack of motivation or other reasons. They have the ability, but not the will to use it. It is the application of that knowledge that has some kind of an impact. This combination of intelligence and ability to apply that intelligence is the REAL issue.

The smart caveman was the one who thought of the idea to use a circle instead of a square/triangle/whatever-shaped wheel, and then used that idea to create it.

translation:
"i just smoked entirely too much pot and now i have 'discovered' that everything in the world has came about by uneducated people like myself who sit around and do nothing day in and day out."
