IT is very possible that u do not have a sound card built in to the motherboard, most motherboards do but the older ones didnt. The other posibility is that ur audio drivers were not installed, and the audio out jacks port was not popped open on the back of ur computer case

well u have to check to make sure u have audio output ports from the motherboard. U can open the case up and just look to see if there are any audio jack outputs that are there. If not u might have to spend money on a sound card
