Whos Next?

Like i said.. there are plenty of people that are this AND know alot about car audio. why hire someone that only fulfills one of the categories whent here are plenty that do both? If you want the site to run smoothly you need someone that people will RESPECT. im not going to respect anybody being an authority figure over mne on a car audio site when i know more then they will ever know. No one else will either.
I bet you would respect them if they were willing to learn. In Bob's case he didnt know very much, but at the same time he wasnt willing to learn anything either. He thought he knew everything. Worst was the same way.

What if some one is a mod that knows basics and even some more advanced stuff, but doesnt know as much as Audioholic or doesnt compete but they are willing to learn from other more knowledgeable people? Being a mod Id hope they would keep their posts down in a thread they didnt know the answer to in the first place so they didnt make themselves look like an ass face.

FWIW I think we need someone who can type coherent sentences as well.

Says who? whats the poitn of having power if you cant use it?

lol.
haha, i'm sure you are being facetious, but since you bring it up. a mod should not want the power. to be honest, i would like to be a moderator..... call it ocd, or call it just wanting things clean, or what you will. accidental double posts, wrong sections, harrassing in technical sections, diplomatic resolutions, etc. i like to see things kept in good maintenance, but i kind of don't like pushing the "bug someone to fix things" button. problem solving is a part of my life and who i am. that is why i chose mechanics and electronics as a profession, over higher paying desk jobs, such as engineering and architecture. at all jobs i have been to, i have always been the un-official problem solver. it is because, i strive for the unbiased solution, whether it be personal knowledge, or deferring to appropriate resources. i can keep my personal opinion out of things when needed. i also have experience knowing it really is not that hard at all for individuals to keep any power out of personal disputes. on other forums, and in life, i have seen, and been involved in the worst of disputes and fighting, yet it is rare, before this site, that i have seen such use and/or abuse of power even considered to be involved. i just wish whoever the next mod is, can honestly segregate the power and duties, with any issues that do not pertain to specific site maintenance.... just my 22cents.

I agree to this statement. People should have some advanced knowledge or someone who actually built a system from scratch, not from taken it to a dealer and says I installed this. Audioholic is a prime example of people who should be mods, he has advanced knowledge and makes USEFUL posts. My biggest thing that Ive seen on here in 6 yrs is the more posts you have the better chance you have to be a mod which in my opinion isnt the way to go. The mod that I can think of from your statement above is REQ or Andy. He had basic knowledge in car audio and some advanced knowledge in other things, built an sq car and actually came to some competitions to learn the rules and meet the peeps. Very good guy. This is what the site needs more people like that.

i cannot see that as really true. imho, the first time 90% sees the bright orange "moderator" next to a guy's name, there is respect of sorts, whether it be "watch what i say/do around him", or just "cool".... it is lack of respect that is earned. i could respect a moderator that is barely novice, as long as said moderator knows that. i do agree, it will really help having the knowledge/experience in the field, as well as interest in frequenting the technical sections, rather than just responding to reports, and bs'n in the dome. if you could see my activity pattern, the dome is the last resort bordem for me to visit.... the past 24hours is about the most active i have been, and that is simply because business i was carrying out in a the classified section, drew me to find out why the thread-starter was suddenly banned. so basically, i can see how everyone has been presenting themselves on the technical sections. there are a few good members that would be choice, but i will not mention or support them until they express interest.

website seniority doesnt mean a damn thing anywhere other than your computer chair. and 09 is just a noobish to an 03'er or whoever as an 11'er...just a friendly reminder to all.
i would liek to know how someone who signed up a week ago would know anything about what this particular site needs in a mod? not trying to a **** but how can anyone say what a mod for this specific site needs to have in his arsenal when you have not even been around to see the problems other mods have presented that we would like to avoid

like i said.. it would help if you had been here more then a month. BOB got 0 respect. because he was an idiot. Me and sic followed hima round for weeks correcting all the "help" he was giving to the newbs. then he got the mod nod. If you were a newb it would take all of 2 posts to see he was an idiot. I dont know what world you are from but respect is not lost it must be EARNED.

It's good to see everyone is back. I'm keeping the info on my site in case anyone might need it...it has all of the posts from the original thread that got him busted, as well as other threads from other forums. If a mod or Goob wants me to remove it, then I will...just want to keep all info together in case it's needed.

thank you. in case anyone was wondering, i just migrated from another forum, since i just wanted to dust off and unpack my large collection from days of yore, and get back into what is new in c.a.

He was a moron and had horrible logic. The only thing he had was some nice old school gear.

im not saying your not knowledgable or any newb for that matter. but i think it would be nice to have someone that has beena round on THIS site and knows some of the past of this site and the direction it needs to go so we dont backtrack on old mistakes. Would be better for someone to already know then learn on the job
