i thought CA.com had started pulling itself out of this hell hole its been swimming in for at least 2 months (maybe longer), but no.......

Mod 'elections' have been tried here before. Its not like Goob all the sudden swoops in and just wants to wield some admin powers. A short abbreviation of what would otherwise be a very long list of problems with mod elections include, but are not limited to: people voting for their best buddy regardless of that person's qualifications, people voting in the biggest troll just because they think having a 'cool' admin will also be cool, people voting for someone they actually know would do badly just to be funny or spiteful, people with ulterior motives gathering together to all vote for the same person/people which gives him/them a big likelihood of getting voted in, people who vote more than once using AE's or other nefarious means and how to police those situations, deciding consequences for people who break the rules, a certain percentage of people getting angry and vocal about it no matter how the vote is taken or who wins (people are going to complain... it was rigged!, he shouldn't get to vote!, why didnt you vote for me!... no matter what happens). I wish it would work, but it doesn't.

Hey bro, at least I'm not European. Because that would be one hell of a major bummer!!!

There was nothing wrong with the original mods that were elected- someone has that list somewhere, but me, Mike, and I believe Denim were all original mods that, for the most part, got things taken care of when need be. Dustin, Mark, Lloyd, Steve, etc. were all good mods as well.

The voting system isn't a problem when it is closely administered and stuck to. We were supposed to have mod votes every 6 months I believe, and at one point we went several years without having one, then we had a random vote and that was it.

At this point, the best way to pick new mods is for goob to get together with the current mods and have a discussion of who should be a mod. If this happened, I guarantee whoever was chosen to be a mod would be a better choice than the last two that goob appointed.

is this NOT what happens then..??, it should be.

the mods are far better placed to pick other mods as theyre here far more...... im sure ADMIN has the final say but the candidates should be put forward by mods.
