But you don't get out of debt by giving tax breaks to the wealthiest 2% of people either. You do it by giving tax breaks to the other 98% who actually needs the money and will spend it. That's simple economics.

You don't raise taxes, you lower them so that the people have more money to spend in America which is how you boost the economy. Raising taxes just gives the government more control over us. The people are where America's heart is at, not the government.

Well, theres also the saying you have to spend money to make money, and the economy. albiet slowly is starting to rebound (the GDP is almost a full percentage higher then the average during Bush's time in office). I do not think Obama has done nearly as much as he claimed, but to say nothing has been done, it takes time for laws that are passed to effect the economy. Cannot expect that one day we all wake up, and the biggest recession since the depression is going to be all over and everthing is going to be perfect. I suggest we give the guy a chance to finish out his term before we decide how well he did. Clinton was able to have a surplus a couple of years, but during his 8 years in office the national debt was raised by over a trillion dollars. Saying Obama is the problem, is an easy way out. Obama does not write, pass, and sign every bill that passes his desk, the House and the Senate before it ever reaches the presidents desk.

A major problem is the amount we import. How much of the money we spend is on goods from China? Outsourcing is going to be the downfall of the U.S. Economy! Not all outsourcing is bad, but their needs to be limits on the % we import and we need to force other countries to accept more of our exports.
WTF? so you think it's kul to lower the taxes of only the top 10% earners but not for anyone else? you don't like the interstate system that allows easy travel to and from places that your taxes pay for, what about the running water in your house, what about the electricity that let's you get on this forum, etc.... government taxes pay for alot of the things you take for granted. so government regulations are bad too? let's just throw out building codes b/c that's just a way for the government to have control over the ppl.

I think there is a balance that needs to be reached, and I think the federal government has too much control at this point in time.
can't for ppl to buy american products especially when american products are usually inferior. would you rather drive a Chevy Malibu or a 5 series BMW? how about a TV would you rather a RCA tv or a Samsung? America doesn't make that much any more and the little that is made here usually isn't that good of quality compared to other things in the same market. America is a cheap country, we want everything dirt cheap. why do jobs get outsourced or products go from being american made to chinese made? b/c no one will pay retail. it all starts with retail, why pay retail for an american made product when I can pay wholesale for a chinese made product.
