Um, you realize the economy was **** when Bush left office right? The economy has only gotten better (albiet not much) since he took office. He also has nothing to do with gas prices. The problem with gas prices is the gas companies. The solution? Remove the gas companies from the equation. Socialize the industry. Have the government drill it and set up government gas stations. Don't necessarily remove all other gas stations, but use the government's non-profit ability to sell gas for cheaper and create competition.

Both sides do stupid **** like give oil companies huge subsidies so they're cut them big campaign contributions. We need campaign/voting revolution.

Realistically speaking, though, that **** is minor. Even if you suddenly switched to politicians who campaigned honestly and cut oil subsidies, you'd only save $2 billion out of a multi-trillion dollar budget. We have bigger problems like 2 worthless wars and a middle class whose share of the economy is dwindling.

I mean honestly, you can attribute all economic issues with the fact that everyone not in the top 2% of people are commanding less and less wealth as a percentage of economy. Common sense tells you that the more wealth the middle class has as a percentage of the economy, the better our economy will do. History backs this up. The Republicans propose fixing this inequality by increasing the inequality and giving even more wealth (as a percentage of the economy) to the top 2% of people. Where are they getting that money? From everyone else.

There is no money to be gotten. I agree with you on that. The more separation of wealth between the higher class and lower class has been the failure of all major powers/countries/societies, whatever you want to call it. The middle class makes this country, we need more of it.

With that being said, I don't think it's fair to tax someone more than the other, just tax all based off percentage. I've been to the ghetto and to the trailer parks, and there is a reason why people in the there stay. A lot of them are idiots, and they will stay that way. It's no one else's fault that they are poor besides their own. I understand that life is tough but there comes a point where these people have made and still are making and still will make bad decisions. And they are going to reap what they sow. A big problem I have is many of these people want free stuff, and they come up with BS pity reasons that they should have it. So in a way it would be wasting money to try to raise the wealth of some of the lower class.

So it's hard to say what to do. Which brings me back to my original point- people should do what they know is right and stop being so fucking selfish.

You're opinions seem to conflict with each other. Higher taxes on higher income is basically the only way to combat income inequality. It's not going to happen any way else.

odd. i could have swore we just crashed through the debt ceiling. Not ot mention we are pardoning other countries debt, the missippi river just flooded costing us BILLIONS of dollars and thousands of acres of farmland.. so what do we do?? send 100,000 metric tons of grain over seas for FREE.. dont mind our own people or the fact that our debt is outrageous.. lets keep helping others and dig it deeper.. hes just a ****** idiot
