well i bought the 1/0 guage hyperflex power kit and i have never seen any wire kit like this. The quality and the flexibility is top notch. haven't installed it yet but will soon. recommended to anyone who wants easy wire to work with and quality. My friend whos a kicker rep bought one for himself aftger seeign the quality.

wow... power wire is power wire is power wire...

how much you wanna pay is up to you. but itpretty much follows the same theory as bed sheets, higher thread count (up to a cerain point) is better. other than that, its different materials versus different materials, and even that is up to debate.

go with whats cheapest. its before all the processing, a volt is a volt, it doesent care how it gets there. go with the cheap (but still flexible) stuff

so what you're telling me is that all 1/0 guage wire have the same amount of strands, and same as 4 guage and so on. I suggest you buy two different brands of 4 guage wire and look. My friend showed me at his shop the difference between the 4 guage he uses and a few other 4 guage wire they sell locally.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

edit:eek:h and i got 20ft of power wire, 3 ft of ground wire, a top notch fuse holder, 2 distro blocks, 5 ft of 4 guage power wire and 5 ft of 4 guage ground wire. $100.00 canadian

no, im definitly not telling you that all wires have the same strand count, i think i made this comparrison before (cant remember if it was in this thread or another honestly) but its almost like looking at bed sheets, the higher the strand count, the more flexible (softer) its going to be... the jacket accounts for a little bit of it, and also, if it is also a true size wire, not a thicker jacket...

and also, honestly, not to knock your purchase... but when you say a "top notch fuse holder", i want to know what makes it any better than any other fuse holder...

like i said before, as long as it can carry voltage, flexibility is my only selling point on power wire...

when i say top notch i mean quality, i have a fuse holder under the hood right now, and the weight, the quality, the looks can not compare to the kicker. Mind you both still do the purpose and thats hold the fuse. I didn't make this thread to argue with anyone, i made this thread to let others know if they're looking for 1/0 guage power wire go with the kicker, for reasons stated above. If not go with whatever wire you prefer.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not all wire is the same. As you said about the thread count is true. The more surface area the power has to travel the better. Also the different type of material used comes into play as well. On a scale the best electrical conductors are: Silver, Copper, Gold, and aluminum in that order. Some wires, including Kicker, tin the copper because it is resistant to corrosion. That process cost more and as we all know, copper corrodes very easily. Also if you are looking for flexibility there is a difference there too. The material made for the jacket on Kicker is much more flexible than on some other brands. Kicker does cost more but if you are looking for a wire that isn't going to corrode and you need maximum flexibility, go for it. It is good stuff. If nothing else get somethat that has a tinned copper on it.
