raptors are fine for the mud, and so are yfz's... just keep up with the maintence... ie, change oil, keep filter clean, grease it, lube your chain, check all seals and bearings after getting into water/mud..

Until you get in some ruts. Raptors, like all sport bikes, have a lower stance and axle height. You can get stuck easily. Make sure you buy good skid plates and a good metal chain guard. Larger tires would be better to get more height.

Still not a mudding ATV IMO.

6500 new here... if you get an 05 or older you'll save alot of money because in 06 when they went to the 700r they went up on the price about 1000 bucks...

dont buy a banshee or a raptor if you want to go mudding man, thats like getting a **** nascar to use for your work truck, it's good shit, but it's not for that

get the grizzly 600, thats the shit i have, but dont get the auto, it gets ****ed up if you're mudding allll day, we bring it up to bull creek near yeehaw junction and it never gets stuck, we pull the other jeeps out with that thing, it's light enough to lift onto a trailer with 2 guys, and it was only 6 grand new.

dont get a raptor. alot of people around here have them and they have alot of problems with them. If you are going to get one get the new 700. They fixed alot of the problems with the 660s with the 700 update. I had a ds650 and rarely got stuck without reverse, but to each is his own and you seam to be stuck on the raptor. I think i saw yamaha coming out with a new 4x4 more sporty quad. might want to check into that. just my 2cents
