holy **** welcome back jmac even if it is for only a few minutesOutKast, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Aceyalone, early Wu-Tang Clan, Masta Ace, Cunninlynguists, 50 Cent (Mixtapes & Get Rich or Die Trying. 50 had some hilarious mixtapes before he went mainstream and with some good songs to boot (most of his Get Rich or Die Trying was made of songs he previously released on mixtapes; was his only good album)).
Almost anything from the late-80s and the 90s was at least tolerable and there were a ton of gems. 2000-2005 had some good stuff, but it was less common, especially in the mainstream. I can't say I've heard a lot of good stuff from the rap/hip-hop field in the last 6 years (most of it is just awful).
