Do you guys get a lot of downtime?

I'm interning for an engineering company (so i guess i can't really do as much as a standard employee). The last two weeks i've been here i've been helping write a proposal for some contract with the DOT.

anyways, we "finished" on friday, this week its being taken to a conference for review, then it is due next week.

And as of the last two days, i've done absolutely nothing, except write a job description for a sister company and an application for other interns, oh and took a company truck to get a new power steering fluid pump put in.

I work for verizon in engineering and for work either I have a sh!t load or none at all. Got four jobs right now but can't work on them till somethings go through the system.

i work for eng company and a lot of times im busy but just for like 5-6 hours out 8 hour work day. But for the past 3 months i have been just sittin my *** on a chair and browsin net (40% time) or playing COD2 multiplayer (60% time).

yeah boring (not COD2) but as long as im getting paid its ok

That's how it is for me. All in or nothing. I hit the forums of various places to take a quick break here and there.

Cube life can really ****, but at least it's comfortable. A/C, coffee, decent view, decent seat. I'm not outside doing back-breaking labor.

My last engineering internship I sat on my ***, did a couple hours of work a week and read CA and another truck forum all day.

It's just because they don't want to give interns alot to do, because we are stupid and will inevitably fuck up something or cost them money. They're just getting the bait out there for when we graduate.
