Who here DOES NOT have health insurance

Got a job and dont have it...too exspensive. Be nice if I did have...could use some decent pain pills and some sort of cream to get rid of this spreading rash on my fingers/hands/wrist

i feel i pay enough money on cigarette and alcohol taxes to cover the cost of my health care.. plus i'll die much too young to collect social security, instead most likely dieing right around the time i stop contributing to the system.

i feel justified in my desire to go to a doctor for free and hope they public option me up some coverage quick!! .

you know what i find funny? the fact that if you dont have insurance you get FUCKED.

my mom spent 3 days in the hospital. got a couple tests done because she was having some kind of pain (i dont even remember what it was).

it cost 23 thousand fucking dollars. 23k for a 3 day stay in the hospital? how the fuck is shit like that even legal? its almost straight up extortion especially if you have no choice but to go to the hospital.

doctors do an important job...but its at a point where its just legal robbery right now.

buddy of mine just had a liver transplant and it went south but ok now.. he just got out of the hospital like a week ago .. over 1million in bills he has no insurance.. lets just say they set him up on a payment plan

Definitely couldn't have put it off. I was working around the house, lifted something funny, felt a weird kinda tingling pain and thought nothing of it.
Two days later I couldn't sit in a chair or bend over to put my socks on or tie my shoes. Trying to sit normally in a chair was impossible. I had to have my mom put on my socks because I couldnt bend over.

Went to the doctor and after a few x-rays and an MRI was told that I had two herniated discs, one of which was pinching the sciatic nerve in my left leg. Terrible, terrible pain.

After a few weeks of physical therapy, traction, and some medication I began to regain some mobility and flexibility. I'm still not 100% by any means (this originally started in 2007), but I'm a HELL of a lot better than I was. I would be even better if I kept up my gym routine and started doing my stretches again.

Granted it was a freak occurence and could have been avoided had I been more careful, but that holds true for 99% of injuries that require medical care.

real talk, i fight mma. slammed some dude wayyy heavier then me, and just torqued my back. the pain was worse then the 3 days i put off my appendix rupturing. and that was just 2 nights sleeping on it. **** that noise. lol

The prices are high because we have the best of everything

Even leaders from other countries come here because of how great the care is.

I will agree that most stuff is just priced to high.

I had a ct scan and it was almost $4000, for using a machine for 10 min.

I understand you gotta pay the radiologist, nurse, and for the needles and iodine but jeez.

The total amount of money I spent to get rid of my cancer was worth it.

I spent more money than I wanted but I got the better doctors and better hospitals and offices.

........ thats where you just join the military because you are already owned for life at that point

i think the 5"x5" piece of kevlar they used for my hernia alone was like $1000+

I lost my health insurance when my pops lost his job as I was covered under his plan. Havent had it for almost a year now, which sucks because I have some back problems that I need to get taken care of.
