This is bullshit. Ebay apparently is run by complete ****ing morons (like thats news lol). Was just curious who else thinks ebay is totally going in the wrong direction and digging themselves into a hole they eventually wont be able to get out of unless they change their entire way of working...

This is the email I got today

2. Driving more sales with a more consistent buyer experience

We're taking other steps to ensure buyers keep coming back to eBay:

* Limits on shipping and handling charges

* Big seller rewards for free shipping, including free subtitle, a boost in search results, and double PowerSeller fee discounts

* No more checks and money orders

* New seller standards: Minimum 4.3 on all DSRs

3. More relevant search results to drive more sales. We're optimizing Best Match to surface the inventory most relevant to each buyer and show the best of Auction-style and Fixed Price.

It seems to me as if ebay is going in the completely wrong direction, all these new policies are ****ing retarded as hell. Like sellers cant leave negative feedback... not NEW, but relatively, and a ****ing horrible decision. People can basically freely leave negative feedback for whatever reason, especially if their expectations of a seller are unrealistic. Another thing is "seller rewards for free shipping". Thats not gonna help sellers.... all thats gonna do is make product prices THAT much more expensive (but free shipping whoopty ****ing doo). Another thing is the "limits on shipping and handling charges". I have been selling many of my remotes on ebay lately and apparently my price of 10.00 to ship UPS is "too high" **** YOU ebay. If they want USPS its 7.49 (fair, considering i have to box/wrap if i have no box, and shipping is usually 6.50) But if they want UPS... I have to drive 12 miles to north little rock. So every time they give me that warning i get so pissed.

Ebay sucks ***.

And no this was not because of a negative feedback or anything, just i read that email and realized that one of these days a very large corporation is gonna start up an auction site and before long, they are gonna take over. Ebay does not give a shit about sellers, so I know when another auction site gets popular I along with thousands of other sellers will have no problem saying **** ebay and jumping ship. With these soaring ebay fees (which are also total bullshit) I have a feeling in the next few years we will see some progress with other sites.

exactly. it seems like every 2 or so months I get an email with them upping the fees. The thing is, i could see if maybe they had to pay for gas or some shit (like shipping has gone up, but understandable for the most part) But no, ebay has servers and they ****ing OUTSOURCE their **** customer support, the little bit that exists at least... Yet they have the most RIDICULOUS fees I have ever seen and they just rise continuously. It's a $2.00 listing fee to list a ****ing remote for christs sake. Does it really take 2.00 worth resources? NO. At most my auction and bandwidth costs them pennies, yet they **** my *** cause they KNOW that they are the king of online auctions and do whatever they please.... assholes.

Was actually just thinking the same thing the other day. I got a bill for nearly $100 bucks from ebay a month or so ago and no one could even tell me what it was for except insertion fees. Then to top it off I found out they were so high because I had a non paying bidder, who I could not leave negative feedback for, and ebay told me they had no method of proving the buyer didn't pay? I gave up. It has become such a hassle selling on there due to all the scammers / non payers that something has to be quite valuable for me to even bother spending the time to put it up there, especially considering the cost.

Without the goodwill of their name they would be in big trouble, but seriously there are no alternatives that would even begin to rival them. Bummer.

I used to buy/sell there quite a bit in 2003, then it started going downhill. I think them buying PayPal was a big mistake.

Yeah. I've looked into about 5 alternatives, but like you said, no one can rival them in exposure. I guess selling something is better than nothing... So far I haven't had much bad luck with non-payers, but tbh these remotes are the first things I can remember selling auction format, most of my stuff is buy it now w/ best offer, instant payment only, that way the auction wont end unless they pay up first //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Then again they still could always scam me but I'll ****ing send someone a mail bomb if they did that shit.

Oh I know! And the fact that they FORCE you to use paypal basically and then link accounts and whatnot... its all pretty shady to me anyways. It sucks having to deal with either of them really.
