oh well its a stupid idea for me to have a working gun anyway.

You obviously know as little about guns as the OP. STFU.

lol. i never said i did know anything about guns. shit , i dont even own one, but it is common sense.

i would imagine there is some type of paperwork or form you would have to sign to get it registered under a persons name. correct me if im wrong, please.

You are wrong. Private sale. Unless your state/local has mandatory registration (very few do) private sales are nobody's buisness. It's just like buying a used toaster. Nobody cares. NYC, Chicago, DC, NC and a few other areas require a permit to purchase or gun registration. Those are the pathetic totalitarian regimes that require them. Most of us still live in a free country. What's left of it.

the handle says rj26..its a .22 cal.
yes i can open the cylinder as if to load the gun. now what is this built in gun lock tho?

Wow. I can't find any refrence to an "RJ 26" revolver. Are you sure there is no brand name stamped on the barrel or a logo or other manufacturers info? Look carefully under the light around the barrel and frame. It may be faded/worn down but should still be visable.

If it has a "lock" there would be a place for a key on the side, near the cylinder release button or a small slot just between the hammer and the grip on the back strap .

If you don't see either of these, then you probably don't have a lock, it's just jammed. Get a tooth brush and some fresh motor oil (Mobil 1 or gun oil would be better) and scrub the the whole thing and try to get it into the working grooves around the cylinder housing.

It's probably junk, but a good cleaning has been known to fix them. Worth a try. If you can't fix it, try to find one of those gun buy back programs and see if you can get the cops to give you your $30 back and use it to go buy a gun that works. Next time buy a real gun that works. Learn to shoot it and clean it. Keep it loaded and pray you never have to use it, but be ready in case you do. Get a permit to carry concealed and keep it all legal.

Um, I live in a state where for $20 you can get a concealed weapons permit. I own 2 Sigs...dem are complicated as they be semi-autos, NOT revolvers. Dude, if you can't operate a revolver, you shouldn't be f*ckin' around with a gun. It ain't a play toy and if you got it for $30 it is either shit, hot, or both. I'm voting for BOTH.

Like someone else said, throw it back in the river and walk away!

I'd throw that thing in a dumpster and get a real gun. The last thing you want to do is point a gun with no bullets at someone. What are you gonna do if they shoot? Throw it at them?
Agreed...an old saying goes something like "Don't bring a chunk of metal to a gun fight."...or something like that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

FL does , and im moving to NC.

..so if the police find a gun next to a body in one of these states , youre telling me they have no way of tracing anything to anyone? what about the original purchaser? sounds nice , but that doesnt make sense.
