Much of that is due to taxes that subsidize public transportation. Driving is not a "right" in the same way it is here.

That seems to sum it up. People aren't too excited about what Barack Obama actually stands for. While you're considering all of this love pouring in from around the world about Obama, consider this. Recent polling in Europe show that the majority of Europeans want to see a weaker United States? The oil companies make very little profit off each barrel once you factor in refining costs, and the already astronomical costs to purchase the barrel in the first place. I can't remember the exact number, but on $100+ dollar barel of oil, the actual profit ranges from several dollars at best, down to cents on the dollar depending. The oil companies don't set the price of oil. The market does. Supply and demand.

I think you are not knowing what a profit margin is.

The amount of profit is huge...the margins are small. Lowe's has higher margins.
