Whining noise when i accelerate

sounds like a ground loop...where are your amps grounded to and how far apart are they grounded?

Also mounting an amp to a box won't hurt it. It won't be exposed to anymore vibrations while attatched to the box as opposed to sitting next to the box. It would actually be safer because if it's mounted it can't bounce around compared to if it's just sitting next to it....

the grounds are pretty close if i remember. Maybe 12 inches apart

He isn't making it clear if it's coming through the speakers themselves, or if its coming from somewhere else. If you don't know turn your HU off and see if you still hear it. If you do, its your alternator, i had the exact same problem. GET a new alt lol.
