Whining Noise, I have tried everything

I have had no problem using any pioneer head unit to date. Try buying high quality rca cables. Are your rcas running on the same side as your power wire?

nah.rcas wont make a difference - and he said his power wire was not on his rcas

I had a noisy Pioneer,I hated it and no matter what I did it whined and *****ed

I switched it out to my current alpine and now I dont have even the slightest spec of noice in my system - and I use inexpensive RCAs,not to mention the SQ is way better with the alpine

The problem with pioneer is unless you spend and buy the top models you get crap anything below the 860 model - and even then I am not so sure

Pioneer can kizz my azz

you can also try to do this---instead of running your ground from amp to chassis-run your ground from amp to neg terminal on your battery. also the ground from your headunit-make absolutely sure that it is attached to BARE metal. if that fails then it possibly maybe an equipment issue.

I think that the only reason is because ever since I blew my fuse by the batt i could hear my CD tracks change thru the sub(a weak one at that). I never realized the issue was that bad until i heard my highs through an amp. I don't think the ground matters since the amp that i was using for my sub, the ground wasn't moved, it just got switched from Low pass to high pass, and i've tried this amp without the new sub amp attached too.

I had my ground trace go out my my pioneer 8600mp which was cause my ground noise. I just got it serviced and the problem was fixed. Just remember to never unplug the radio harness while teh power is still on.

I'm having the same problem with my pioneer, I think I had a ground trace give out as well, but my internal amp inside the HU blew. Now I have the whine and I can hear the laser head moving inside like you're talking about. I think I'm gonna buy one of those power isolators for my HU and see if that helps.

i think he mainly meant just in our case. btw i have RF rca's, idk if upgrading would do anything.

Let us know if that works.

It could still be a ground problem, even if it didn't do it with the sub. Think about it; you had the amp in lowpass mode when pushing the sub. Alt whine is a high pitched noise. The lowpass would filter out the alt whine just like any other frequency; hence why you couldn't hear it through the sub. Switch it to highpass, and you are now playing the higher frequencies (which is where the alt whine is located)....hence why it is now audible.

Not saying it's definitely the ground, but you can't rule it out simply because you didn't hear it with the sub.

And up until recently, I had been running Pioneer decks for ~5yrs+ and never had any noise problems with them.

It is a ground problem lol. It's an internal ground problem with the deck for the RCA's ground circut. I could not hear the alt whine, but i could hear the tracks changing and power antenna going up thru the sub, but it didn't interfere with the music so it didn't bug me. yes your right about the alt whine being in the highs but not the lows and such. Another thing is that it didn't always do that, only after i blew that fuse by the battery with the live power wire in the back(no it's not the amp, i've tried two amps and they both reproduce the whine/noises)

Make sure the RCA inputs on the amps/hu's/eq's etc are away from power cables. Pick your amp up while it is playing and move it around assuming you have enough cable to do this, have someone in the car to tell you if there is any change in the whine.
