Whining Noise, I have tried everything

Let me start by saying i have read the search results and tried **** near everthing listed.

1992 2dr Nissan Sentra se-r

Pioneer Premier headunit 670deh

infinity Kappa Components

Memphis Amp 4 ch (RMS)55w*4 (4 gauge ground)

infinity 10" sub

American pro 640watt 2ch (8 gauge ground)

Scoche amp wiring kit

Optima Battery (Red Top)

All of the wires running from the speakers to the crossovers ( which are mounted in the glove compartment) to the amp are moster cables. (14 gauge i believe). The power ground and remote wires are running by the door on the drivers side, and all of the speaker wires and rca cables are running down the center console (more than 18 inches apart)

I have the alternator hissing noise through my components in the front. The noise ncreases its pitch as i rev my engine. To solve this i have tried the following:

1) Regrounded both grounds (amp 1 and 2) to one location on the chasis which has been cleaned with a dremmel before bolting on. ( No change)

2) Changed headunit ground( No Change)

3) Disconnected second american pro amp to see if it was causing interference with RCA cables) (No change)

4) purchased a new battery because i thought that my stereo was clipping

(no change)

5) unbolted the memphis amp that was bolted directly onto chasis.

PS: When i was wiring the splitter for the battery wire the power cable touched a screw that was grounded, and it blew the main fuse next to the battery; at this time my headunit was plugged in and the amps were mounted to the chasis.

PPS: after reading these forums it seems that every post with people having alternator noise had a Pioneer. And i never had this problem when i had my Alpine headunit.

Any help would be appreciated.

umm white noise i had the problem cause i had a internal amp, but it also could be that alternator is loosing currents and it makes the sound when you hit the gas and did you try to reground your hU?

yes, i did try to reground the headunit and it had no effect. I also took my car down to autozone and when they were testing the battery it showed that my alternator was putting out 13.8 volts

in the amplifier kit there is always 2 rolls of 18 gauge wire. 1 of them is blue(remote) and the other is black(ret.gnd). You simply connect the black wire at the amplifier where your ground from the car is connected, and then run the wire up to the radio and tap into the ground of the radio. Im gonna be honest i dont know 100% facts on the science of why you run a return ground, but any time that i hook up a 4 channel or any amplifier to the speakers in the car other than subs, i was taught to do that. It may not work but 4 out of 5 times it has taken the whine out of the speakers. All else fails you can get a noise filter and tie it in.

you could just have a bad amplifier. i had a mtx amp that no matter what i did i would have alt whine. turns out somthing internal on the amp was ****ed up.

ps you might want to try a line driver if all else fails.

hey i'm not kidding you i'm having the same problem with my pioneer DEH2600, and have tried everything you have including also wrapping a 16ga ground wire around the power wire and grounding that like the one around the rca's with no success. I have also tried only running one amp, etc... But i also in my setup before this about a week before i did this one(yesterday) I took a corner to hard and i guess the power wire came out of the amp. Pulled over, got lucky it was on the carpet. Thought it'd be smart just to plug it back in, while trying, whoops i dropped the live wire on a piece of metal and blew the fuse by the battery, Ever since then I've had noise when changing tracks(hearing the laser, turn signals thru the speakers, etc) And now with the install i just did in it yesterday w/out touching the deck, (added 2nd amp for the speakers), there is alternator whine, but no noise when the car is off. I think we've messed up our decks.

After hearing all these people with noise issues with pioneers, i think this will be my first and last pioneer. BTW, I bought the extended warrenty for this at BBY(the deck was on clearance for about the same price as cardomain), will they take it back does anyone know?(i hope i'm not jacking the thread). As for a scientific answer to why this happened: The deck internally short circuted it's own RCA ground.

I have had no problem using any pioneer head unit to date. Try buying high quality rca cables. Are your rcas running on the same side as your power wire?
