Whine Question

I've been battling some minor alternator whine and have gone thru the many steps one can find out on the Internet to troubleshoot it. I've got it pretty much licked with the "Big 3" as well as some insurance such as a 150 Amp noise filter on the alternator to battery line (my alternator is 145 Amps) and a couple of noise filters on the HU constant and ignition lines. HU constant is also run direct to the battery. I've moved grounds around and such and I have isolated the noise as most likely coming from the HU power wire. It doesn't go up and down with volume and is not coming from the amps or the RCA's.

What has me curious is there is no whine at all when the headlights are off. It is barely audible, but there, when the headlights are on. Again, only if you are really listening for it. I'm sure for most they wouldn't even notice it, but I would like to see if I can completely eradicate it. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

any luck.my buddies 08 silverado is having the same issue.we believe it's the hu.jvc hu not sure what model.we hooked the speakers to the hu and still have the whine.needless to say i think he is going back to all stock,he's quite frustrated with the whine
