Whine coming from engine?

Ok, so I just got my system installed today, and now whenever I accelerate my something in the engine is making a loud whining noise...

This happend before when we threw an old amp and some 10's in there to have while I was ordering all my stuff for my new system and when all the wires were hooked up to the amp it would do the same thing....

When we took that stuff out and had nothing hooked up, it seemed to not make the engine noise...

Now today when I went to pick up my truck as I started driving it started doing the engine whine again today...

Anyone know what's up with that?

Well duh! The mad DeeBeez that the Pioneers generate will cause the motor mounts to shatter, thus resulting in noise from the engine bay:laugh: I thought everyone knew that?

well im done talking to this retard, but If it is a pioneer, it is probably the RCA ground issue. Here's a good example of how someone did it.

you noob....pioneers are known to produce alternator whine THROUGH THE SPEAKERS...its a common ground loop isolation issue

I don't have Pioneer...

System is consisting of:

Alpine 9887, Sundown 1200 and 100.4D, hertz hsk 165's and a 12" Fi BL

Truck is a 98 dodge ram 1500 5.2 318

Does reading own me tonight? Where did the OP even mention that he had a Pico fuse blowing Pioneer Head Unit?

ETA: In after the OP.

Are your amplifier grounds on nice, shiny, metal? Did you ground your head unit to the factory harness?

sounds like your alternator struggling to me...could be on its way out or too much load on it

I once had a replacement alternator that generated noise through the stereo system whereas the factory alternator worked fine. Turned out the replacement had a bad diode in it that was feeding noise to the electrical system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Of course, that is a rare case, unless your alternator happens to be on its last legs. In some cases, I have seen the factory ground cause noise when connected through the harness, but grounding to the metal behind the dash didn't. Regardless, ground loop noise is a pain in the *** to track down.
