Which xovers to use..

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find the answer I needed.

Should I use the xovers built into my amps, the ones built into my Alpine PXA-H701 or the crossovers that came with my comp set? Can I use more than one xover or will that cause problems? I'm pretty sure I'll have to use the xover that came with the comps since the tweets and mids are 2 ohms each and they need different xover frequencies from one another. Any thoughts would be greatly apprecaited.

I have 3 amps for highs all with built in crossovers, from their i have them running to a crossover sounds a lot better, only thing is now i get some minor engine noise. I then connected the amps straight to the HU and no noise so Im pretty sure its the 2 runs through crossovers. but its still worth it

OP, what are the particulars of your setup? It sounds to me like you're going to be way over your head with the H701 if you're asking this question...
I have a RE XXX comp set up front and RE XXX 6.5" mids for rear fill. I also have a RE SE 10" that will be installed in the cabin as a theatre sub. The amp will be the 5 channel RF Power 1000. In the trunk will be 2 12" RE XXX powered by a DD Z1A. 300 amp alt, three bats, Alpine Processor, Audio Control Epic 160, screens and DVD player. Thanks for the input..

Well...I'd use all the functionality that the H701 has. I'd lose the Epic 160 because it isn't going to work right with the 701. The 701 can do your crossing between the comps/mids and the sub. It can do a ton of other stuff, too, such as time alignment.

If it were my system and that's what I had to work with, I'd ditch the rear speakers or find a really small second amp to run them and run the fronts active off the 701. I'd then delay and attenuate the rears to get proper "fill" out of them or select them to only be active when using 4 channel source material.
