Hey guys,

I was lookin around on the audioque website and was wondering,

would 2 12" SDC2.5 subs (600rms each, 1200rms total, powered of an aq1200d) or a single 18" HDC318 sub (1000rms, powered off an aq1200d, copper coil) be louder? i listen to 90% rap...sometimes i listen to hard rock/pop/alternative/metal, but not too much.

and it is true that an 18" sub will get louder than a 15/12/10 right?

thanks guys

alright thanks guys...i was just curious about whether having one big sub, or two smaller subs would be louder. but i am thinking about my next system already haha.

does it say on the website how much cubic feet their subs need? i cant seem to find it

hmmm it will most likely be a honda civic ex. now i wont be buying the car or system for a year or so...but im pretty dead set on a civic cause they are reliable, cheap, and alot can be done to them. and i know i will upgrade my system in the future, which is why i was just wondering whether two 12's or 1 18 would be louder...im not thinking about buying right now, just wanted to get an idea about what size/amount of sub(s) to run for my musical taste

Audioque makes a solid product. The hdc3 subs are awesome . I would go with more cone area and wich ever will fit my budget. Two 15's ported in a civic would be nasty. If you are open to brands other than audioque I would look at 2 nightshade 15's being that they get loud in a small enclosure

yea im def open to other brands. and again im just do some research for now and getting a general idea what would be the best buy for the money, and what size/number/brand of subs to think about. now i know there will be new stuff in a year or so, but i love thinking about what system i want to put in the car when i get it haha.

when i do get my car im thinking i would like to only spend around 900 or so on subs, amp, wiring kit, hu, component speakers, amp for them, and ill make my own box.

so i was thining hifonics or audioque for sub amp, audioque/fi/re sub(s), pioneer hu (although i may just use the one i already have), phoenix gold rsd comps, and hifonics amp to power them.

so after some reseach i found that audioque has some very nice products. but ive heard GREAT things about sundown, fi, and re, so im always open to other/better choices.

looks like a fi bl 18 may also be a consideration. would you guys say fi bl 18 or aq hdc3 18 would be the better choice?

If money is an issue then definately shop around. U can get a decent setup for $1000 or so. I suggested sundown because I love their products. Granted their products are a little on the high end but trust me their product is worth the price. Two nightshade 15's and a saz 3000 would be a monster but on a $1000 budget this set up wouldn't be 4u. Two hdc3 15's would be sick as well. Just shop around

The fi bl vs the audioque hdc3? First let me say these are both really solid subs I would give the slight edge to a fully loaded bl if you talking spl but this is only my opinion

alright cool thanks guys. i just went on realm of excursion and it seems that most people are using the fi q series sub. would that be a better choice over the bl? i know its more for sound quality, but would it still get loud and sound good while doing it?
