Do you use it as a PC monitor ????
I got a 42" 720p/1080i
looks great.. not shitty at all, but of course I would take 1080p over my tv.. but I cant complain as of now since it is in my budget..
I understand what you're saying about the resolution being low as a monitor. But I'm not going to be sitting at a desk using it. I will probably 6-7 feet away. So the lower resolution shouldn't be too noticeable. I honestly don't know for sure though and that's why I asked. Thanks for the comments Jman.Do you use it as a PC monitor ?
You're taking basically the same resolution that a 15.4" laptop uses and blowing it up to 32" ... That's over 4 times more screen to cover ...
For videos, 720p is fine ... It's borderline acceptable for gaming, assuming you use high-levels of anti-aliasing (recommend minimum of 4X) ... However, for general PC use (internet, documents, etc.), it's horribly inadequate ...There are not many 32" 1080p TV's. Does 1366x768 really look bad as a monitor? I do have a 55" LCD in my living room that's a couple years old that will do 1080i, but I didn't really want to use it.
Uh ... Why would it "upconvert" ? His graphics card is capable of outputting any resolution between 640x480 and 2560x1600 ... It's not a DVD player w/ only one output option, 720x480, that needs to be upconverted to fill a 1366x768 screen ...hmm interesting, I got a friend who uses 720p as a monitor, looks good?
I thought that the computer would "upconvert" into the monitor size?
Yup.......Do it.Samsung. Amazing picture quality.
Works great as a PC monitor ... Same one that one of my friends uses ...Someone mentioned Toshiba having a great picture. How would this be compared to the two I have listed? http://cgi.ebay.com/Toshiba-REGZA-32RV530U-32-1080p-LCD-HDTV-ATSC-NTSC-QAM_W0QQitemZ370068784263QQihZ024QQcategoryZ61399QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247 It's a refurb, but it is in the same oprice range and 1080P
True I forgot about the graphics card..Uh ... Why would it "upconvert" ? His graphics card is capable of outputting any resolution between 640x480 and 2560x1600 ... It's not a DVD player w/ only one output option, 720x480, that needs to be upconverted to fill a 1366x768 screen ...
