Which super sub do i get? Avalanche, IDMAX or RL-p?

IDmax and Rl-p are great. I wouldnt buy AA stuff, but as ive said before thats just me and personal opinion.

Rl-p is going to be cheaper.

Both IDmax and Rl-p will be great with 750-1000

The decision should come down to the enclosure that will be fit your needs. Both subs are fantastic SQL drivers. The Idmax was a orginal driver that coined that term!

I own a 15" RL-p but wowuld have bought a IDmax if they had made a 15. I say this now but I dont know if I would have regreted it or not, the RL-p is a fantastic woofer!

Here is my RL-p w/ 500 watts

I honestly have no clue. I didnt like the antics that went down with Ascendant and Adire, Adire had been great to me over the years for every product that ive used by them. I understand what went on but didnt care. I know they have a website and im sure the recomened box specs are on it.

I know they are supposed to be good drivers though. Get what works best for you! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

The problem is i won't be able to hear either sub before purchase. IDMax is practically out of the run because of the money, so now its between the Ava and RL-P, and since there are 1000000 threads on these two subs, Im gonna have a hard time deciding which one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif Which sub would be the better one for quick tight bass?

You can get a used IDmax for around $200-250 in the classifieds or on ebay. They pop up quite often. The 12" Avalanche can be used in a 1^3 ft. box, and the 15" requires 1.8-2.2^3 ft.

Is there anything the RL-P is better at than the Avalanche? Like the Avalanche is notorious for crazy low end power, so what does the RL-P do better? If they are both equal, and the Avalanche has better low end, and is also cheaper, why would would anyone go with the RL-P over it?

I don't really want a used sub, i want a new sub with a factory warranty. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Youre going to like either one. Get whichever one you can get cheaper........If you dont like it, sell it and try the other.

Well, the Avalanche is gonna be about 40 dollars cheaper than the RP-L. I just wanna make sure both subs will sound good in my enclosure (about 1.3 cuft) sealed.

The Rl-p is no low end slouch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif It sounds great and gets loud aswell.

I'd go with the Rl-p not only because of it's performance, but also because Mike @ SS is one of the greatest guys you'll ever deal with. Like blackgeltabs, I wouldn't go with AA because of personal business ethics reasons. I'd rather support monetarily a company who's business manors I agree with and support.

For quick punchy bass, what you don't want is a low end monster in most cases... so for you I would probably recommend the RL-P or the IDMax if you can get one. I heard the IDMax and its one of the quickest, tightest, and punchiest woofers around. Throw the Oz Audio Matrix Elite in there for a similar performer at a great price.

As far as SQL performance, they should all do around just as well... the RL-P, IDMax, and Oz all possessing a 25mm xmax, while the Avalanche boasts a slightly better 27mm xmax.

I also believe they would all be great in 1.3 cu ft.

I think if you went with the RL-p you would really enjoy it. I found it to have a real unique sound. I've never used a metal cone woofer before and im not sure if its that, but its sounds phenominal. It dosnt miss a beat when you turn it up, I only have 500 for it but I can tell that it would be really happy with 800ish!

As for the low end of the Rl-p, according to the website, which isnt lying:

"RL-p Premium drivers are extremely versatile and can be used in both sealed and vented enclosures. They perform exceptionally well in small sealed and small vented enclosures for home theater use, and may of course be used for astounding car audio as well."
